Blog about Korean cosmetics, reviews and articles
A few months ago, before I started using Korean cosmetics, I was sure that the face should be washed with liquid gel or, at the very least, soap. Naive Chukchi girl. Back then I didn’t know about Korean multi-step method yet. There are many cleansing products from Korean manufacturers, so I hope my article will not just confuse you further.
The first and mandatory point of Korean skin care is thorough cleansing of the skin in the morning and evening. Not face washing, but cleansing, preferably two-step one if you use decorative makeup.
Cleansing oil is strongly recommended to remove BB-creams and waterproof makeup. Regular foaming cleansers do not remove BB-cream well and leave makeup particles in the pores.
A good cleansing oil will not overdry the skin, will deep clean the pores and prevent formation of comedones (blackheads).
It’s not simply an oil. Upon contact with water, it emulsifies and becomes water soluble.
A few popular Korean cleansing oils:
Missha Perfect BB Deep Cleansing Oil This cleansing oil contains tea tree oil, a fantastic cleanser for problem skin. eBay Amazon
Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Oil This cleansing oil is made with natural, organic golden olive oil. Best suited for dry and normal skin. eBay Amazon
Laneige Fresh Brightening Cleansing oil with grapefruit extract. The mild formula doesn’t irritate the skin, suitable for sensitive skin. eBay Amazon
It’s imperative to use a foaming or gel cleanser after cleansing oil. If you do not use decorative makeup or BB-creams, then the foam alone is sufficient. Korean cleansers produce rich and gentle foam and are very economical.

Washing the face with soap or foaming cleansers isn’t advised for dry or easily irritated skin, skin with enlarged blood vessels, and for those who feel burning or tightness after cleansing. In these cases, one could try a cleansing cream or balm. These creams are applied to a dry face, softly massaging the skin, and are not rinsed off but removed with a cotton disc along with the dissolved makeup.

What is the fundamental feature of a peeling gel? Applied to dry skin. After applying the product with massaging motions, particles reminiscent of pellets form and capture dead cells and dirt from the skin without damaging it the way ordinary physical scrubs do.

Regular use of peel off masks will help completely clear the pores, forget about breakouts and blackheads, restore skin’s healthy tone and natural glow. Not recommended with couperose veins and thin, dry skin. Peel off masks should be applied to dry, steamed skin and only to the T-zone. Wait 20-30 minutes until it’s completely dry, then carefully peel off the film. The mask captures contents of the pores and clears the skin of dead cells beautifully.
